Known collectively as the Highland Lakes these were formed when the river was dammed. Of particular note is Zilker Park on Town Lake. The University of Texas-Austin is a noteworthy example of a state university. From IH 35 Northbound: Take the St. John's Exit (just past the Hwy. 290 exit). Immediately move to the far right lane of the access road and take the first right after exiting IH 35 onto La Posada Dr. The hotel is located at the corner of La Posada Dr. and IH 35 North.
From IH 35 Southbound: Take the Houston Hwy. 290 FM 2222 Exit. Stay in the far left hand lane and make a U turn under the Interstate. Go north one block and make a right turn on La Posada Dr. The hotel is located at the corner of La Posada Dr. and IH 35 North.
