A centre of high-tech industry, Austin is located on the Colorado River, and is known for its lush leafy parks and leisure areas that surround the riverbank and the many lakes of the region. Known collectively as the Highland Lakes these were formed when the river was dammed. Of particular note is Zilker Park on Town Lake. The University of Texas-Austin is a noteworthy example of a state university. From IH 35 Northbound: Take the St. John's Exit (just past the Hwy. 290 exit). Immediately move to the far right lane of the access road and take the first right after exiting IH 35 onto La Posada Dr. The hotel is located at the corner of La Posada Dr. and IH 35 North.
